1260 "days"

Revelation 12:6 (KJV): And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.
Tens of millions of Christians agree that Israel, is the "woman" referenced in this verse, based on the description offered in the first verse of the chapter, paralleling Gen 37:9. Consider that the end of the 1260 "days" was when Israel came out of "the wilderness" (of the people Ezekiel 20:35), and as concluded on an earlier page emerged from being scattered among the Gentile nations, by declaring her independence in 1948.
Now if we follow Isaac Newton's suggestion on the prior page - ".....42 months, or 1260 days: and in these Prophecies days are put for years." - we would subtract 1260 years from 1948.
What year does that problem suggest?
